Golden Retriever

Breed Information

The Golden Retriever is one of the most popular dogs all over the world. Its typical features include a wide head with a broad but tapered muzzle, pendant ears, a brown nose, warm and gentle eyes, and a constantly wagging tail. 

SIZE

This dog has a shoulder height of about 51-61cm and weighs around 25-34 kg. It is adaptable to all types of living conditions as long as it is given enough exercise and outdoor physical activity.

COAT

The Golden Retriever has a dense and water resistant undercoat. The appearance can be either flat or wavy. Their coat sheds quite heavily and comes in varying shades of gold and cream.

CHARACTER & TEMPERAMENT

The Golden Retriever is a self-confident, strong, intelligent, kind, and sensitive dog. This breed makes an excellent companion and are known for their gentleness, patience and strength of character. They are devoted to their family and friendly toward children, other dogs and household pets. They are sweet and loveable, eager to please their master and family. 

CARE

This dog should be bathed regularly. Their coat should be brushed at least twice a week to get rid of all the dead hair. The ears should always be kept clean and the nails should be trimmed on occasion.

TRAINING

This breed is highly intelligent and very easy to train.  They are fast learners and excel in obedience training.

ACTIVITY

This dog needs more than average amount of exercise on a daily basis. They enjoy playing games of catch and retrieve, running around, and taking long daily jogs or walks.
